Victims of an attack at the Olak Oku market and environs in the restive North West region of Cameroon are yet to come to terms with the burning down of their business premises and vehicles early this Monday August 23 by a group of suspected separatist fighters led by wanted Field Marshall No pity.
The fighters are said to have stormed the market very early Monday, firing gunshots to force occupants out before setting the place on fire on grounds that the people there do not respect the Monday ghost towns imposed by them and often betray their hideouts.
A dozen of shops and vehicles around the market were set ablaze. The fighters then proceeded with the Council situated not far from the market and burnt down part of it, and next set ablaze a portion of the house of the Mayor of Oku Council.
Ambazonia General No Pity said to have led the operation has been the brain behind several other attacks in major Divisions in the North West region. Recently, he was declared dead but resurfaced. In one of his outings, No Pity said he is on mission to eliminate all black legs in the area.
